Disconnecting the tiles and redirecting them to a sump pump is one of the most effective ways to lower your risk, and it helps your whole street.
When weeping tiles need to be replaced
Clay weeping tiles can clog with silt, fill with roots or be crushed by settling soil. When that happens, water builds up against the foundation and enters at the joint between the wall and floor. Exterior replacement involves excavating along the foundation, installing new perforated pipe on clear stone and adding drainage membrane to the wall.

In Halton Region, weeping tile disconnection with a sump pump qualifies for 100% of eligible costs up to $6,500. In Toronto, pipe severance and capping qualifies for 80% up to $400, with separate subsidies for the sump pump and battery backup.
